This week I was finally able to catch up with Shely for a little bit. She wasn’t using the sign but she said that she was a third of the way to her goal, which is very exciting. She was really happy to be making some progress towards getting a ticket home to Mesa. I was also able to finish up a sign for Ulysses this week. I kept missing Ulysses every time I tried to catch up with him. I was able to drop the sign off with Fred, who said he would get it to Ulysses. Fred also informed me that he will be starting a job next week, which is really exciting as well.

I also recently found out that I will be moving out of Chicago, so I’m sad to say the project will come to a close. With that said, I encourage anyone who would like to continue the project or start one of their own, to do so. I also encourage everyone to help in any way possible the next time they see someone asking for help, whether it’s money or just a friendly conversation. A big thanks to everyone who followed and shared the project, I really hope the project made a difference. Thank you!

This week’s update is a little bit shorter than usual. I was hoping to catch up with Shely to see how things were going but I wasn’t able to track her down. Hopefully she was just avoiding the incoming thunderstorms and I can catch up with her this weekend to see if the sign helped her out at all. I was able to get two new signs finished up for Fred and get those to him. He said he really liked the new signs and thought they were even better than the last ones.

This week I’ve been working on a new sign for Ulysses. He asked me for another sign the other weekend when he and Fred’s signs got taken, so that’s become my project this week. Hopefully he’ll like his new sign as much as Fred did.

During the week I was able to finish up Shely’s sign and get it to her. Throughout the process she has been a little unsure of whether the sign will work or not but she said she be more than willing to try it out for at least a little while. We’ll see how things went this weekend when I check in with her.

I also caught up with Ulysses this week to talk about getting him some new signs since his old ones had been taken. He asked me if I could make the signs similar to the old ones because he liked those so much. He also told me that he didn’t realize just how big of a difference the signs were making until this week. He said this week has been his worst week ever, accrediting it to the design of the signs. So, this week I’ve been working on a couple of new signs for Fred. They’re a little bit of a twist on the old signs. I think he’ll really like them. Stay tuned!
